MEH is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategic Planning Analyst to support organizational strategy development, research, stakeholder engagement, performance measurement, and implementation planning initiatives.
Position Summary
The Strategic Planning Analyst supports strategic planning engagements by conducting research, analyzing organizational data, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and developing actionable recommendations. This role works closely with project managers, leadership teams, and client stakeholders to assess current-state operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with excellent communication abilities and has experience supporting strategic planning, organizational improvement, performance management, or consulting projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Analysis
- Support the development of strategic plans, roadmaps, and implementation strategies.
- Conduct organizational assessments, environmental scans, and gap analyses.
- Analyze internal and external trends impacting organizational performance.
- Research industry best practices, emerging trends, and benchmarking data.
- Develop findings, recommendations, and implementation priorities.
- Support SWOT analyses, stakeholder assessments, and strategic alignment activities.
Data Analysis & Performance Measurement
- Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Develop performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
- Support development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and outcome measures.
- Monitor progress toward strategic goals and objectives.
- Translate complex information into clear executive-level summaries.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support interviews, focus groups, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and facilitation documents.
- Document stakeholder feedback, themes, and recommendations.
- Support communication strategies to promote organizational alignment.
Project Management Support
- Assist with project schedules, deliverables, and milestone tracking.
- Develop presentations, reports, and executive briefings.
- Maintain project documentation and action trackers.
- Support quality assurance reviews of client deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Organizational Improvement
- Support process improvement initiatives.
- Document workflows, policies, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Assist with change management activities.
- Support implementation planning and sustainability efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Organizational Development, Strategic Management, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting strategic planning, consulting, program management, organizational assessment, or business analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience conducting research and synthesizing findings into recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Public Health (MPH), Organizational Leadership, or related field.
- Experience supporting federal, state, local government, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations.
- Experience with strategic planning frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience developing performance measurement systems.
- Knowledge of change management principles.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings or workshops.
- Experience supporting grant-funded programs.
- PMP, Prosci Change Management, Lean Six Sigma, or related certification.
